Your Field Guide to Day Camp
For kids ages 6–12, our Summer Day Camp provides an unparalleled opportunity to relish outdoor recreation and forge deep connections with nature. From the thrill of the climbing wall to the creativity of performing arts, we provide a safe space for kids to unplug, cultivate essential life skills, and find their new favorite hobby under the canopy of Ohio’s oldest camp.
Summer 2026 Day Camp Schedule
Our Day Camp program is organized into four 2-week sessions and one 1-week “Grand Finale” session. Please note that two-week sessions cannot be split.

- Session 1: June 8th – June 19th (2 Weeks)
- Session 2: June 22nd – July 3rd (2 Weeks)
- Session 3: July 6th – July 17th (2 Weeks)
- Session 4: July 20th – July 31st (2 Weeks)
- Session 5: August 3rd – August 7th (1-Week Finale)

* A $100 non-refundable deposit is required per camper, per session. Session 5 Only (1 week) is available for $500.

Important: Session 5 & Overnight Rules
Session 5 runs from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily with no overnight. For all other sessions, if a camper does not participate in the overnight, there is no day camp the following day. All overnight campers must be picked up at 9:00 AM the morning after the campout.

The Daily Rhythm
Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. While activities vary daily to ensure every camper explores our 172-acre campus to the fullest, swimming is included every single day!

Thursday Night Campouts
Day Campers can choose to campout with us the last Thursday of each session. Pickup after the overnight is at 9:00 AM on Friday. Please remember there is NO DAY CAMP on Friday after the overnight, even if your camper does not spend the night. (Note: Junior Day Camp does not participate in overnights and runs a full day on Friday).

Inclusive Housing & Privacy
Trans and gender-diverse campers are welcome in any cabin. While we maintain “girls” and “boys” cabin designations, all are inclusive of trans and nonbinary campers:
- The Girls Side: Welcomes cisgender girls, trans girls, trans boys, and nonbinary campers.
- The Boys Side: Welcomes cisgender boys, trans girls, trans boys, and nonbinary campers.
Privacy Policy: To protect all campers, families are not notified of the names, medical histories, or personal information of their child’s cabin mates or counselors before, during, or after their session.
Facilities & Self-Expression
All cabins feature lockable bathroom stalls and private curtains for showers and changing; public nudity is strictly prohibited. Gender-inclusive bathrooms are also available across campus.
We believe there is no “right way” to be a boy or a girl. Campers are encouraged to wear what makes them comfortable and will always be addressed by the names and pronouns they use for themselves.
Professional Supervision
Our staff is assigned to groups based on gender identity and undergoes thorough background checks. Training includes intensive sessions on child sexual abuse prevention, bullying response, and age-appropriate inclusive communication.
Common Questions
Will these policies change my child’s experience?
Not at all. Creating a tight-knit, supportive community remains our cornerstone. We celebrate all identities as we always have.
Are these standard policies?
Yes. Hiram House is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), which sets health and safety standards for over 2,400 camps and provides specific guidance for gender-diverse inclusion.
